An excellent opportunity has arisen for a leading supplier of ingredients to the food, beverage and flavours industry with a proud heritage spanning over 50 years. They’re well established and have achieved a strong growth pattern in volume and diversification. As part of their continued growth plans, they a looking to recruit a Technical Sales Manager to cover the UK.

Key Accountabilities:
• Respond to the commercial needs of accounts in order to achieve satisfactory overall customer satisfaction levels
• Establish, develop and maintain regular business contacts/relationships in line with sales strategies
• Provide product pricing/availability and other requested information to customers
• Respond to customer RFP and Tender events
• Establish and maintain MRP forecasts
• Proactively identify new opportunities amongst existing and new customer base
• Assist with maintenance of sales pipeline
• Use prospecting tools and skills to generate new leads
• Win opportunities to present to new customers
• Successfully build new business in line with sales pricing and product strategy
• Obtain and respond to technical sales briefs from customers and raise as per the request procedure
• Respond to technical service enquiries from customers for information
• Provide support for corporate activities such as sales exhibitions
• Cross functional communication and ensure key internal relationships are established and maintained with Customer Service/R&D/Production/Planning/Technical/ Logistics and Warehouse teams

Requirements:
• Ideally degree educated in a science or food related degree (not essential)
• Demonstrable track record of success in account management or technical sales experience, ideally in food and/or food ingredients/flavours in a B to B environment and ability and experience in generating new business
• Experience working with distributors
• Comfortable working for ethical business with family values and a reputation based on integrity, quality and confidentiality
• Strong client management skills and ability to keep promises
• Highly autonomous, resourceful, flexible and proactive with a desire for continuous improvement
• Confidence in presenting technical and marketing information to customers and colleagues

You will have to flexibility of working from home or the office after initial training. This is a fantastic opportunity to join to senior management team in a highly autonomous role. The basic salary is up to £75,000 and the role comes with commission, annual bonus, company car, excellent pension and a range of other benefits.
