BASED BROXBURN, WEST LOTHIAN

ROLE

Reporting directly to the Site Technical Manager, the Hygiene Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all staff comply with the hygiene procedures and protocols and that everything meets with the standard required. In addition, you will ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan implement and analyse hygiene policies and Standard Operating Procedures in line with Chemical Suppliers’ requirements.
• Always ensure total safety for all working activities.
• A hands-on role which will require you to not only be the manager but also assist the hygiene team when and if required.
• Ensure that time is allocated to audit hygiene operators work, and to complete paperwork.
• Manage stock and contracts for all cleaning products, equipment and related services.
• Motivate and maximize employee engagement, supporting their training development.
• Plan and assist with audits.
• Drive hygiene awareness and improvements across the business.
• Maintain factory GMP/Hygiene standards to exceed customer expectations.
• Work together with the management team to ensure that factory cleaning requirements are met within agreed deadlines, making best use of resources and materials.
• Communicate effectively with your team, managing their attendance, development and performance in line with Company policies and procedures (training matrix).
• Investigating and reacting to microbiological and hygiene issues.
• Monitor and report hygiene Key Performance Indicators into the relevant formats.
• Coach, develop and lead staff, and establish a culture that supports all aspect of the business.
• Managing staff absence, holidays and any other non-attendance

CANDIDATE

• Previous Hygiene supervisory/management role experience in the food industry essential.
• Demonstrable track record to deliver strong results through a team.
• Understands the need to operate in a compliant manner.

Working a combination of Night Shift and Back Shift (8 Hour Shifts)

Monday- Friday

Annual Leave – 28 days holiday – every 2 years’ service will accumulate another days hol, to the total of 31 days max. Mandatory dates taken from allowance are; Good Friday, Easter Monday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and the 2nd Jan (4 in total).
Pension – auto-enrolment 3% employer, 5% employee
