Job Description

My client – a leading manufacturer – are hiring for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Newcastle. They currently have a solid team of talented engineers and due to growth they are looking to add one more to each shift. Someone who has experience working on their own and within a team both electrically and mechanically.

Salary – £53,508
Shift – 4 on 4 off Days and Nights
Location – Newcastle
Benefits – Enhanced pension scheme (6% matching), enhanced holiday allowance (33 Days pro rata), enhanced sick pay and company discounts
Responsibilities –
• Ensure the continuous operation of equipment within their fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Responding promptly to equipment breakdowns by identifying and rectifying faults.
• Providing mechanical, control, and electrical support for planned maintenance and breakdowns across all shifts.
• Completing assigned tasks with minimal supervision, maintaining high standards of efficiency and effectiveness.
• Undertaking project work as needed.
• Demonstrating a proactive approach to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Working independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
• Exhibiting self-motivation and dedication to tasks.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience –
• Time served multi-skilled or electrically
• Multi-skilled maintenance experience
• Manufacturing experience is essential (FMCG is desirable)
• Ability to thrive in a team-oriented work environment.
• Capacity to perform well under pressure, making swift and accurate troubleshooting diagnoses and decisions while effectively managing workload priorities.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.
• Attention to detail and a keen eye for spotting potential issues.
• Confidence in fault-finding techniques.
• Proficiency in working with industrial electrical systems.
• Aptitude for devising practical solutions to problems.
