Position: Food Safety Lead

Role Overview:

As the Food Safety Lead, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing food safety and quality assurance programs throughout our production processes. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity of our products and ensuring compliance with all relevant industry regulations and standards. You will be part of a dynamic team that strives for excellence and shares a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and continuously improve food safety policies, procedures, and best practices across all stages of the manufacturing process.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with food safety regulations and internal quality standards.
Identify potential food safety hazards and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective preventive measures.
Conduct thorough investigations into any food safety incidents, identify root causes, and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
Oversee and ensure the proper handling, storage, and disposal of raw materials and finished products.
Lead food safety training programs for employees to promote a culture of awareness and compliance.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements in food safety to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with external regulatory agencies, suppliers, and customers to address food safety concerns and maintain positive relationships.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field. A Master's degree would be a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a food safety or quality assurance role within a food manufacturing environment.
In-depth knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and other relevant food safety regulations and standards.
Strong understanding of food microbiology, foodborne pathogens, and sanitation practices.
Proven experience in leading food safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Food safety certifications such as Certified Food Safety Manager (CFM) or equivalent is desirable.
