Job Description

This role for a Food Technologist involves significant responsibilities in the development, optimization, and compliance of food products.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development & Improvement: Lead the development of new food concepts, improve existing products, and ensure feasibility within manufacturing capabilities.

Compliance & Standards: Ensure adherence to Food Safety, HACCP, Quality, GMP, and H&S procedures. Provide support for GMP compliance in the manufacturing environment and implement required changes.

Project Management: Manage multiple projects within defined timelines, aligning with customer launch plans. You will also organize product trials, shelf-life tests, and industrial validations.

Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams (Commercial, Category, Sourcing, Production, and Technical Process) to ensure the success of New Product Development (NPD) projects.

Post-Launch Monitoring: Oversee products after launch to ensure continuous quality and success, managing post-launch reviews and ensuring that all deadlines are met.

Documentation & Process: Maintain accurate product files and update relevant documentation throughout the launch process. Ensure site-specific systems and changes are communicated clearly.

Audit & Factory Standards: Participate in audits, addressing any actions required within the set timeframes. Oversee pest management, service providers, and other factory compliance activities to maintain operational standards.

Skills Required:

Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and other food safety and quality standards.

Ability to manage projects and meet tight deadlines, while coordinating across multiple teams.

Experience in product development, particularly in new product launches and post-launch processes.

This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to ensuring high-quality food production standards. The candidate will be integral to maintaining the quality and safety of the food products from conception to post-launch stages.

Candidates must have previous experience working as a Food Technologist in a Food manufacturing environment.
