Our client is a leading producer of high-quality food products, committed to excellence in everything we do. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Hygiene Coordinator to join our team and uphold our high standards of hygiene and product safety.

Job Overview:
As the Hygiene Coordinator, you will be the site’s hygiene champion, ensuring the effective execution and governance of our hygiene programme. Your role will be critical in supporting the safe and hygienic manufacture of our products. You will lead and develop a dedicated hygiene team, manage our hygiene processes, and ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Hygiene Task Management: Ensure timely and effective completion of hygiene tasks, addressing any non-compliance issues promptly.
• Procedures and Standards Oversight: Develop, implement, and review hygiene procedures and standards to ensure compliance with company and customer Codes of Practice for CIP and manual cleaning.
• Team Training and Development: Oversee the training, development, and performance reviews of the hygiene team, ensuring all team members are competent in their roles, including chemical handling training.
• Pest Control Programme Leadership: Manage the site Pest Control programme, ensuring timely action on issues.
• Customer Complaints and Non-Conformance Investigation: Investigate customer complaints and site non-conformances, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
• Audit Participation and Compliance: Actively participate in audits by customers, third parties, and regulatory authorities, maintaining thorough knowledge of the site’s hygiene programme, including CIP processes.
• Chemical Supplier Coordination: Serve as the primary contact for the chemical supplier, conducting regular visits, following up on actions, and reviewing usage reports.
• Verification and Monitoring: Conduct chemical concentration checks and hygiene audits, ensuring verification and documentation of cleaning processes as per required frequencies.
• Environmental Monitoring: Collaborate with the Quality Manager on hygiene-related environmental monitoring systems, implementing corrective actions for non-conforming results.
• Process and Equipment Management: Authorize changes to plant hygiene and CIP processes to ensure product safety and quality and manage all hygiene equipment.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvement opportunities related to hygiene and GMP requirements, driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Proven experience in food manufacturing with a focus on Quality Systems/Management or Hygiene Management.
• Strong understanding and practical knowledge of CIP processes.
• Demonstrated ability to uphold high ethical standards in business dealings.
• Experience in leading and developing teams and managing change effectively.
• Creative problem-solving abilities.

Skills and Knowledge:
• Innovative problem-solving skills.
• Positive and proactive attitude.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent auditing skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and independently.
• Proficiency in data interpretation and action-oriented decision-making.
• Computer literacy, particularly in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
