Hygiene Supervisor

Location: Uddingston, Glasgow
Salary: £16.62 per hour (just over £34,500 per year).
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Shift: Night Shift – 10pm to 6am – Monday to Friday.

The Role
As the Hygiene Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our factory meets and exceeds hygiene standards. You will be responsible for leading a team of hygiene cleaners, overseeing the cleaning of production areas, and ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned, reassembled, and ready for operation.

Key Responsibilities
• Maintain Hygiene Standards: Oversee the cleaning of production areas to the highest standards, using the correct methods and ensuring all machinery is properly cleaned and reassembled.
• Team Leadership: Lead and motivate your team, providing clear instructions and ensuring tasks are delegated fairly. Ensure that all team members receive the necessary training, especially for specialized cleaning tasks.
• Support Production: Work closely with the production team to ensure that production lines are ready to go by 6:00 am. Assist with any tasks that contribute to a smooth start to the production day.
• Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Food Safety Standards. Report any broken or damaged equipment to the Engineering Team Leader immediately.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in cleaning and hygiene. Show your team how to identify areas for improvement and maintain a spotless work environment.

What We’re Looking For

Knowledge and Experience:
• Awareness of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).
• Understanding of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
• Familiarity with current hygiene legislation and Health and Safety regulations.
• Basic Food Hygiene and Food Safety Certificates.
• Previous experience in a Hygiene Department within the food industry
