Job Description

Exciting Opportunity: Warehouse and Stores Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Warehouse and Stores Manager to oversee and manage our stock control and store organisation. This key role requires a comprehensive understanding of the supply chain to effectively coordinate the intake, storage, and supply of raw materials for production, as well as the delivery of final products to our customers. The successful candidate will work closely with the production department and the commercial and buying teams to ensure smooth operations.

Salary – £40,000 – £50,000.
Hours – 40 hours per week, typically from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Based in Uddingston.

Key Responsibilities
• Leadership and Management: Oversee the stores, ensuring targets are met, and staff resources are allocated efficiently. Lead, supervise, and motivate store personnel.
• Problem-Solving: Address issues promptly, investigate stock errors, provide detailed accounts of discrepancies, and implement preventative measures.
• Planning and Coordination: Plan intake schedules, manage stock sent to and returned from external storage, and liaise with the buying team.
• Maintenance and Repair: Ensure all racking, counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, and hand pallet trucks are properly maintained. Oversee weekly checks, record faults, and manage timely repairs.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations and standards. Support company policies and ensure staff compliance.
• Training and Development: Identify and address training needs of store personnel.

• Experience with computerized purchasing and stock control systems.
• Proficiency in English, with strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Forklift license and/or experience driving forklifts.
• Proven experience in managing teams of staff.
