My client is a well known industrial Waste2Energy business who recycles unwanted food waste from companies, converting it into renewable energy through anaerobic digestion and supplying it directly to the National Gas Grid from their plants.
They are looking for a Maintenance Electrician to be based in their Widnes plant to carry out site electrical maintenance, installation and upgrade work whilst providing production support within the shift team.
If you have completed a recognised UK Electrician Apprenticeship/Qualification, have electrical experience working in a heavy industrial environment and have 17th or 18th Edition Wiring certifications, we want to hear from you!
As the plant is recycling food waste and supplying the grid 24/7, the arrangements for this role are 12h shifts done 4 days on 4 off, days and nights, averaging 42h/week.
There is also a requirement to work 17 cover shifts throughout the year and an opportunity to work overtime shifts with increased payment rates of 50% more during weekdays and 100% more on weekends.
The Maintenance Electrician responsibilities:
Carrying out daily maintenance of all plant & machinery
Work under H&S Guidelines
Undertake routine electrical maintenance & repairs + complete risk assessments
Carry out electrical maintenance on PPM system
Diagnose and resolve electrical issues
Provide production support within the shift team and shift cover when needed
Complete department daily work record sheets
Assist other mechanical/operational departments when required
Benefits:
Paid weekly (basic salary of £803.99/week)
Basic salary of £41,807, raising to £46,984 after the completion of the required annual 17 cover shifts (worth £5,177.10) & possibility to work overtime.

You must be:
Based in the North West of the UK at a commutable distance to the plant in Widnes
A fully qualified UK electrician with significant industrial-scale electrical experience and 17th or 18th Edition wiring certification
Experienced installing and working with circuit boards, power supplies, meters, lighting, electrical points & wiring
Skilled with basic PCL logic and inverter drives
