Are you a creative and well-organised person with a passion for food? If so, we may have the perfect opportunity for you!
We are seeking a Product Designer to join our client's NPD team. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring that new products smoothly transition from our development kitchen to full-scale production. This involves taking ownership of new products and guiding them through trials, testing stages, and beyond.
What You'll Be Doing:
Your day-to-day work will involve managing and progressing various Process Design Projects. This includes overseeing factory trials and ensuring they run smoothly while also monitoring costs, safety, and quality improvements.
You'll also have the opportunity to assess the impact of new equipment, raw materials, and methods of manufacturing while supporting the commissioning process. Part of the role involves identifying areas for efficiency improvements, optimising processes, and driving continuous improvements within our operations. You'll work closely with key teams like Planning, Purchasing, Stock Control, Production, and QC to coordinate factory trials and address challenges as they arise.
As you take on product design work, you'll be encouraged to share learnings with the wider team, ensuring a smooth scale-up from pilot to factory production.
Who We're Looking For:
We believe this role would suit someone who enjoys a hands-on approach and can demonstrate a genuine passion for the food industry. You'll have a thirst for learning and a natural curiosity that drives you to solve problems. Excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to plan and execute tasks with precision are necessary.
Ideally, You’ll Have:
A qualification in Food Technology or a related field.
Some experience (0-4 years) in a similar role, ideally within the food manufacturing sector.
Strong computer skills, particularly when it comes to working with data and reporting.
The ability to communicate well in written reports and conversations with colleagues across the business.
An enthusiastic, proactive approach to your work.
A full UK driving licence.
Salary – Circa £30,000 – £35,000 depending on career experience and academic/vocational training undertaken.
Benefits package: 32 days annual leave, Profit-Related Pay scheme, EAP, Learning and training opportunities, exclusive employe benefits following probation such as private medical insurance, health insurance, and 3x death in service life assurance
