Join Our Team as a Stores Assistant

Location: Uddingston

Are you organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment? We are looking for a dedicated Stores Assistant to join our team. Reporting to the Stores and Logistics Manager, Stores Supervisor, and Stores Chargehand, you will play a key role in the efficient running of our store.

The Role
As a Stores Assistant, you will be responsible for accurately logging movements of raw materials, packaging, ingredients, and products within the store, ensuring efficient stock control and maintenance of a clean, safe, and tidy work area.

Key Responsibilities
Stock Control:
o Accurately log the movements of all raw materials, packaging, ingredients, and products using the stock control system.
o Conduct regular stock checks, provide accurate reports, and highlight any stock discrepancies.
Workplace Maintenance:
o Participate in keeping all work areas clean, safe, and tidy.
Issue Reporting:
o Report any issues affecting the smooth running of the store to the Stores and Logistics Manager, Stores Supervisor, or Stores Chargehand.
Training Identification:
o Identify any training needs beneficial to the role or department.
Team Collaboration:
o Maintain good working relationships within the office and factory.

Knowledge and Experience
Stock Control Systems:
o Experience with computerized purchasing and stock control systems is preferred but not essential.
Literacy and Numeracy:
o Proficient in English with a good standard of literacy and numeracy.
Forklift Experience:
o Forklift licence and/or experience driving forklifts is preferred but not essential.

Hours of Work
Shift Pattern:
o Work an 8-day shift pattern: 4 consecutive 12-hour shifts (19:00 to 07:00) followed by 4 days off, totalling 48 hours in an 8-day period.
Stock Takes:
o Complete stock takes as required, with time off in lieu provided for this.

Flexibility:
o Flexibility with working hours is required to meet the needs of the business.
Physical Capability:
o Physical capability to handle the demands of the job.
Cross-Department Assistance:
o Willingness to assist and/or work in other areas/departments as needed when requested by a manager, senior manager, or company director.
