Job description
Learning & Development Coordinator
Location: East Shropshire
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
A well-established food manufacturer in East Shropshire is seeking a passionate and organised Learning & Development Coordinator to join their HR team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in training and development to take ownership of the full learning cycle — from identifying training needs through to delivering impactful learning solutions that support business strategy and compliance.
The Role:
You’ll be at the forefront of employee development, ensuring all training is delivered effectively and in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements (including BRC, Food Safety, and H&S). This is a hands-on role where you'll design and coordinate learning programmes, oversee induction processes, support production-based training needs, and develop training content aligned with operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, and coordinate training for site-wide operations, including production, management, and compliance.
- Conduct training needs analysis and deliver tailored development plans for teams and individuals.
- Create and update SOPs in collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Deliver inductions and ongoing training for new starters, including agency workers.
- Maintain accurate records, training matrices, and track compliance using relevant L&D systems.
- Ensure all training and learning is documented
- Lead initiatives that strengthen food safety culture and employee capability on-site.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and external providers to ensure training needs are met effectively.
What You’ll Need:
- Proven experience in a training or L&D role within a food manufacturing environment.
- Confident facilitator and trainer with experience delivering both in-person and virtual learning.
- Strong knowledge of training design, delivery, and evaluation.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Experience with ERP or eLearning systems (desirable).
- Train-the-Trainer qualification (preferred).
Why Apply?
This is a chance to make a real impact in a critical role, working with an experienced HR team to support and grow a highly skilled workforce. You’ll join a business that values continuous improvement, collaboration, and developing talent from within.
