Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

Full Time 4 on 4 off Days and nights 

Salary: £26 per hour for fully qualified and experienced Engineer

Location: London

Shifts: 12 hours shifts, 4 on, 4off 

Hours: 6.00am to 6.00pm and 6.00pm to 6.00am 

Role Purpose

To effectively maintain the factory equipment and site services. Duties cover a broad spectrum of engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, automation, including PLC programming, utilities - steam, compressed air, water, etc.

Responsibilities

  • be an active and supportive member of the engineering team.

  • Maintained all machinery, ensuring that it was capable of producing to maximum efficiency and met all H&S requirements.

  • complete both electrical and mechanical pro-active & reactive maintenance.

  • attend breakdowns and provide engineering support to various departments throughout the factory.

  • action repairs and ensure all measures taken are recorded so recurrent faults can be recognised.

  • actively seek equipment upgrades and improvements to improve machine safety and efficiency

  • assist outside contractors working on site.

  • respond to alarms and emergency situations.

  • use the engineering CMMS system to log all work and stores requests.

Requirements - Knowledge and skills

  • Proven multiskilled Engineer with electrical bias.

  • served an apprenticeship, preferably in the food industry, but not essential.

  • qualified to at least NVQ level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical/electrical Engineering, BTEC level 3 in Mechanical & Electrical/Electronic Engineering).

  • appropriate C&G 2382 BS 7671:2018 18 Edition IEE regulations qualification.

  • good knowledge of automation, Plc programming and SCADA systems, ideally Allen Bradley.

  • competent in electromechanical & pneumatic Systems, electrical panels, industrial wiring, welding, machining, steam boilers etc.

  • proven track record in an Engineering and fault-finding role gained from within a FMCG environment (ideally food industry)

  • good understanding of HACCP principles

  • strong teamwork skills and be H&S focussed

  • must live in Cornwall and have own transport
