A leading company in the food ingredients and speciality chemicals industry is seeking a Technical Sales Manager – Food B2B (Sweet) to join its commercial team in the Benelux region (head office near Kortrijk). Role Overview
The Technical Sales Manager will provide expert technical advice to customers in the sweet food sector, covering industries such as cheese, dairy, chocolate, biscuits, breweries, and soft drinks. The primary focus of this role is to drive product development, foster strong client relationships, and support the commercial growth of the business. While the role involves sales-related activities, the emphasis is on technical project development and customer collaboration to deliver tailored solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead technical and commercial projects to develop new business opportunities.
Manage the budget for the assigned market segment.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships, offering process optimisation and technical consultation.
Analyse market trends and collaborate with product management to relay insights to key stakeholders.
Work closely with account managers, product managers, quality & regulatory teams, and technical sales colleagues across Europe.
Record, track, and manage customer interactions and project data using CRM and ERP (SAP) systems.
Candidate Profile:
Educational Background: Professional Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology or a Master’s in Life Sciences (Food Industry focus).
Experience: Minimum of five years in a similar technical or sales-related role within the food industry.
Languages: Fluency in Dutch, French, and English (both written and spoken).
Technical & Commercial Acumen: Ability to provide customer-focused technical solutions and drive commercial success.
Key Competencies: Strong negotiation skills, innovation-driven, service-oriented, and results-focused.
IT Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, CRM, and SAP is essential.
