Farm Technical Lead

Job description

The role involves overseeing day-to-day operations in the packhouse, including intake, grading, packing, quality assurance, and dispatch. The position also manages the site’s quality management system to ensure compliance with customer technical requirements and industry standards. Additionally, the role focuses on ethical management, ensuring the site complies with all ethical standards, as well as assisting the farming team with compliance in growing standards and certifications.

Salary £30,000 - £40,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage the quality management system, ensuring adherence to customer standards and requirements.

  • Implement technical policies and procedures in alignment with company manuals and guidelines.

  • Ensure the maintenance of all relevant documentation to achieve and maintain necessary accreditations, including BRCGS and customer audits.

  • Lead and manage HACCP system for the site and oversee audit preparation.

  • Ensure full traceability of products and provide necessary documentation upon request.

  • Assist in supplier approval processes and ensure compliance with industry audits.

  • Support continuous improvement through coaching and training within the packhouse.

  • Manage IT platforms and participate in customer site visits.

  • Collaborate with teams to resolve issues constructively and embrace new opportunities for business benefit.

  • Adapt to changes in work practices and manage resources accordingly.

  • Handle additional tasks as required to meet company objectives.

The role requires a proactive approach to maintaining high technical and ethical standards and fostering continuous improvement across the site operations.
