Maintenance Engineer

MAINTENANCE ENGINEER - DOUBLE DAYS 

Lancashire - Wigan / Leigh Area

Salary: £47/48K

FOOD MANUFACTURING

Responsible for:

· Machine efficiency to achieve a minimum of 70% OEE across two packaging lines

· Planned Preventative Maintenance across all packaging and processing equipment.

· Breakdown maintenance where required

· Implementation of engineering reporting and spares replenishment systems and storage.

· Development of site engineering including fixed installations and electrical systems

· Assist in capital project management and implementation in conjunction with engineering manager

· Maintenance of site services

The Role

The role will be a hands on role and the individual will be responsible for actioning a PPM system as well as enhancing the existing system, while ensuring the packaging machines and other processing machining equipment perform to minimum OEE requirements.

The role is to catch up on outstanding engineering improvements while developing the standards and systems for the future in conjunction with the engineering manager.

Experience required

· Electrical and Mechanical background within the food industry, ideally with a packaging background with experience of vertical form fill bagging machines, conveyor systems, metal detectors, check weighers etc.

· Ability to diagnose problems then to create a permanent engineering fix.

· Implementation and actioning of engineering systems ie PPM, 5S, SMED etc

Hours of work

6am – 2pm & 2pm – 10pm rotational Monday to Friday
