Multi Skilled Elec Engineer

Job description

My client is seeking a highly skilled Multi-Skilled Engineer with a strong electrical bias to join our team in a leading food manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of our production equipment, playing a key part in maintaining the highest standards of efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance across production equipment to ensure maximum uptime.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical faults.

  • Conduct routine checks, inspections, and repairs to identify potential issues before they cause downtime.

  • Support production teams in ensuring smooth operation and efficiency of manufacturing processes.

  • Implement planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance as required.

  • Work on electrical circuits, control panels, and instrumentation, while also addressing mechanical issues.

  • Provide technical support to operations and assist in process improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Be part of a team that supports the continuous improvement of plant performance and operational reliability.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer, ideally within a food manufacturing or similar fast-paced production environment.

  • Strong electrical background with experience in fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs.

  • Mechanical knowledge to support engineering work across various types of machinery.

  • Knowledge of PLC systems, electrical control panels, and automation.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Experience working in a Continental shift pattern or willingness to work a rotating shift schedule.

  • A proactive attitude, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent).

  • Experience working with food manufacturing machinery is highly desirable.
