Our client, a leading food manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to take ownership of their production planning function. This role is ideal for a dynamic and strategic individual with a background in food manufacturing, who can drive efficiencies and ensure seamless supply chain coordination.

The Role
The Planning Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate production scheduling, aligning supply and demand, and optimising planning processes to maintain high service levels. As well as leading your team of Planners. Working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, the successful candidate will play a key role in balancing operational efficiency with customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Forecasting – Oversee production schedules to ensure on-time delivery and efficiency.
- Team Leadership – Lead and develop a team of planners, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Demand & Supply Coordination – Work closely with procurement, operations, and commercial teams to align supply with fluctuating customer demand.
- S&OP Process Management – Improve Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes to drive data-led decision-making.
- Inventory & Waste Reduction – Ensure optimal stock levels while minimising waste and maintaining product freshness.
- Process Optimisation – Implement best practices to enhance planning accuracy, reduce inefficiencies, and improve service levels.
Your Skills & Experience
Our client is looking for a highly motivated Planning Manager with strong experience in the food manufacturing industry.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- 3–5 years’ experience in planning, supply chain within food manufacturing
- Strong working knowledge of SAP, MRP
- Proven experience in team management and cross-functional collaboration
- Understanding of food safety regulations, shelf-life constraints, and industry standards
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
