Renewable Energy Land Scout – North of England

The Opportunity

Our client is a leading renewable energy developer, delivering behind-the-meter private wire projects for industrial power users (IPUs). Their portfolio includes ground-mounted solar PV, battery storage, and onshore wind projects, with a focus on securing strategic land opportunities.

They are seeking a Land Scout to cover the North of England, actively sourcing new land opportunities and building relationships with landowners. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual with an agricultural background, strong local connections, and an interest in renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the company’s "on-the-road" land scout, sourcing new site opportunities.
  • Proactively engage landowners through cold outreach, door-knocking, and site visits.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, understanding their requirements.
  • Conduct site feasibility assessments, gathering key insights on land use, accessibility, and environmental factors.
  • Work closely with the Land Acquisition team to secure land agreements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Agricultural background with strong connections in rural communities.
  • Proven ability to generate and progress leads independently.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Interest in renewable energy and agricultural diversification (industry experience beneficial but not essential).
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel extensively (company car provided).
