Maintenance Engineer

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a leading food manufacturing facility in the West Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to enhance their career in a fast-paced and growing industry. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery to ensure minimal downtime, helping to drive continuous improvement and uphold high standards of safety and efficiency within the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery and equipment within the food manufacturing facility.
• Ensure the smooth operation of production lines, minimizing downtime through quick and effective problem-solving.
• Perform both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of equipment.
• Work with the wider engineering team to support ongoing plant improvements and initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
• Record and report maintenance activities, ensuring accurate documentation of work completed.

Shift Pattern:

• Rotating shifts: 7pm-7am, followed by 7am-7pm, on a 4 on, 4 off schedule.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Previous experience working as a Multi-Skilled Engineer, ideally within a food manufacturing or similar industrial setting.
• Electrically biased is preferred, but candidates should be confident in mechanical systems as well.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain complex machinery.
• Knowledge of PLCs, automation, and control systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• A flexible approach to work and willingness to work on a rotating shift pattern.
